So, next month we have to have our house tented for termites. Thankfully, we have a seperate in-law house my mom lives in to move our tanks into. We're using this opportunity to combine two 16 gallon biocubes into a 40 gallon rimless I picked up on Craigslist when we have to move them back into the house.

What advice do you have or things I should consider when combining?

Some more detail:
We do have two other tanks as well that can be used if it takes longer than anticipated to do the combining.

Parameters are really close and I plan on matching salinity and temp before the move and using all the rock, sand, and media from the two tanks for the one.

Very few fish. Two cleaner shrimp and various crabs and snails in one and a tail spot blenny in the other. Rest of the inhabitants are corals - softies, candy canes, and zoas mostly.

All tanks are currently cross-contaminated except QT tank.

Just wondering if there are other considerations I should be thinking about? Other than just dumping everything in together?

Oh, and any advice for me about minimizing losses during a move like this?

Thank you!

You should be able to combine them if both are established systems with little issues.
