Hi All!

I was wondering if anyone knew if I could combine fluconazole and prazipro?

One of my QT's is being treated for GHA with fluconazole and it's in the middle of the treatment. I brought home a potters angel and put her in that tank since it has live rock and I was just going to prazipro her(actually think it's a him). After I thought about it, I wasn't sure if I could combine the both.

I appreciate anyone's input!

Justin

No experience combining those particular two, but I generally don't like mixing Prazipro with other medications. Prazipro contains Oxybispropanol (solubilizing agent) and that can cause significant bacterial blooms when combined with other medications.

Thank you for the replies! If general cure would work that would be great! Will it effect the live rock?

Would General Cure work better in this situation? Praziquantel & Metronidazole, without the oxybispropanol. I know it takes a bit longer to dissolve, but how much longer?

It should, but I still can't say how well fluconazole would interact with prazi & metro. Fluconazole is an antifungal, and since fungal infections are very rare in SW fish I have no experience using it.
