hi everyone, hoping for some input on something im considering...im moving and have 2 reef tanks (one is a 32 ans the other is a tank i use to QT frags plus a couple fish in there). Bascially im thinking of grasually movinf everything into one tank (bigger) so i dont have so much gear and different water columns to move etc.

Can i take sand beds from different tanks and combine them in one (and rock) without some unforeen risk?

Thanks :)

I don't think I'd risk moving the sand. If you'd like a new sand bed then I'd suggest buying that new for the bigger tank. Your rock from both tanks should be able to move right over, just keep it submerged.

I'd also recommend grabbing a bottle of Dr. Tims or Fritz or something just in case.

Here’s how to do it: all these actions are the same step. Moving tanks, combining, upgrading, curing cyano, all the exact same steps. Rinse your sand or replace it, only moving waste detritus is the risk...move none.
Pre rinse any new sand you might buy per the work years below
