Hello,

im coming back to the hobby after 10 yrs gone. I want to buy a peninsula 25 to start. My question is: is the light system they sell good for just a couple clowns and some corals? Nothing fancy. Also seems I should add a 75w heater and replace the stock sock? Anything else?

Which brand tank / lights? Basically the clowns only need the light you will be using to see and enjoy them. And if the corals are basic corals, like softies, even a modest light may be OK for them as well. Not to say that you won’t upgrade the stock light in time. :)

The AI Prime HDs will be more than adequate for some clowns and softies/LPS. You could probably keep a good amount of SPS as well

I’m looking at the waterbox with the Plus HD light system
The light is very good. I don’t think you’ll ever need to upgrade. I don’t know what heater they supply but I’m using a 100w and it seems right. 75w is good too. I would consider upgrading the stock return pump, it’s lower quality and noisy but a good backup to have on hand.
I swapped out the filter sock for a OctoAquatics floss cup because it’s easier than dealing with socks. But socks work.

Well the tank is set up. I got a Tunze 9001 skimmer but it seems I have to glue the magnet to the side of the unit so it can fit in the second chamber….any if you Gad to do this?
