Comline DOC Skimmer 9001 on Waterbox 20 issues

So, I'm trying to fit the Tunze Comline DOC 9001 skimmer in my second chamber of my Waterbox 20. The issue I'm running into is that the plastic plate underneath the collection cup doesn't sit flush once I turn on the skimmer. This is pushing water into the collection chamber. Was curious to see if anyone else was running into the same issue, and how they trouble shot it. Would love to get this skimmer up and running. Thanks!
