Hi Reefers,

I need a little help getting my dosage correct. I started using comp 1 2 3 after noticing my alk not rising when using just the ca, alk, & mag plus. I was sitting at around 7 which I found was a better number for my sps in my tank. I have slowly got my alk up to 10 while dosing 50 ml for each. I noticed after testing my alk it would be 10.1 10.3 so I thought that was to high because it could be goin up to 11 and then dropping down which I don't want. So I started dosing 40 ml and it was just staying the same at 10 dkh. Then I noticed some of my sps getting stn on the base of the coral plugs where the coral has encrusted. So I can only guess it was because of the higher alk . After dosing 40 ml for a few days my alk was at 9.8 which I was still not happy with because it can still be going over 10. So I did a 10% water change on my 38 gallon. The next day my alk was at 8.6 much better I dosed 40 ml again at about 8pm at night and today around noon I just checked and my alk is at 9.0 . Should I drop down to 30 ml or just not dose for one night so my alk drop to a number where I want and then I know when I dose it not going over a number I don't want. Also I have been dosing late a night usually around 11pm I think it would probably be smart to start my dosing earlier. Sorry for the long message but Its hard to explain. Please help out if you can! Thanks

I will stop dosing for a day and let it fall down to 8 or something you like and start dosing low of each component (start with 20 or 25 ml). Then keep dosing the same amount for few days and check after every 24 hour to see if you need to increase it or not. Also if possible try to spread out the dosing across all day like 5 times 5 ml (for 25 ml). More you spread it better will be the stability and consistency.

Will my acros recover once I get it back down to the number they were happy at?
Yes, but they will be happier if you hold those number steady.;)

I switched from triton other methods to Aquaforest 1/2/3 about 4 months ago and my acros look better than ever after switching. Give it a few months and they will look just as good if not better than before.
