Hi all. I have just completed my upgrade to a larger 150 gallon tank. The transfer is complete, all fish and corals doing fine. The time has come for me to consider buying an in sump skimmer, as the one I was using in my old tank and transferred to my new tank is a HOB Deltec MCE600, which apart from being HOB is probably too small now for 150 gallons- or not? So in this case, I would like suggestions for a really silent - as the tank is in my living room- and compact no more than 25cm footprint in sump skimmer. Here is the new setup by the way.

I second Tunze skimmers. I have a 9004 DC on my AIO. It is super quiet and pulls gunk like a beast. The Tunze Comline DOC 9012 skimmer can run tanks from 50-300 gallons and is really streamlined. MSRP is $300 I think and $380 for the DC version.

Would you happen to know the size for 150 gallons?
I run a 9410 dc on my 120. Quiet and fairly compact as in not to high.
You can run it without the filter attachment, I do with no issues.
Very under rated skimmers. Easiest skimmer cup to take off and clean , anti overflow, no need to shut it off if you feed, work in tank.

I have the original 9410 in my 120G. As 90's Reefer mentioned, very compact and efficient, and easy to maintain. I had lent my spare one to a friend while his monster skimmer pump was out for repair. It pulled a lot of gunk out of his 400G system.

So would you opt for the 9410 or the 9012 for 150 gallons mixed reef?

I'm not familiar with the 9012, but the 9410 SHOULD be okay. A lot will depend on your particular tank and its load.
