Hi all, I am planning to setup an AWC and will be mixing my SW in a plastic container about 800 mm/3’ high. I plan to control an AC mixing pump from an Apex. Normally I will be mixing a full reservoir but I do want the flexibility to mix 1/3 or 2/3 volume only.

Do you think an Eheim CompactON 600 would be a powerful enough mixer?

It is rated for 1m head height and would only be pushing ~750mm/2’ 6” to the top of the SW reservoir, but that will be pumping open, without a hose, so I am concerned it won’t mix the top section. On the other hand I don’t want a geyser (-:

I have the same question, did you end up using the Eheim CompactON 600? How did it work for you?

Hi, yes I did go with the CompactON 600 and it is working well. My mixing station is a 100 litre Sulo bin and it is a good size for that. It takes 6 hours or more to mix fully if I just dump the salt in, so these days I kick the mix process off on a Friday, dump the salt in and leave it to mix. On Saturday I then trigger the AWC which runs over the next 24 hours. Works very well, all run by Apex.
