Has anyone kept a Cherub Angelfish with a Spotbreast (Blackspot) Angelfish (Genicanthus melanospilos)? I have a Cherub Angelfish already in my 100g cube. I was wondering if I could add a Spotbreast Angelfish to the tank with low likelihood of trouble (I just saw one at an LFS for a good price). I am planning on upgrading my tank in several months to a 180g peninsula tank.
Thanks for any input!

I think that should work. Preferably you would've introduced the spotbreast first but cherubs are different enough that they may not pay attention. I would recommend using an acclimation box if at all possible. Also, consider observation/quarantine for the new fish. Good luck!

Technically they are both angels but they are very different species, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Centropyge species prefer hanging out near the rockwork, Genicanthus prefer the water column. There may be some initial posturing, but they should coexist fine.

Folks mix full-size and dwarf angels successfully.

Depending on the dimensions of the 100 cube, however, there might not be enough room for an adult spotbreast.

You never know with centropyge, in a 2.5 foot (30 inch) footprint, I have a bit of a concern. Centropyge can be very nasty and territorial. On the other hand, as mentioned, it could go just fine due to the difference in appearance and behavior.

I would say I am 50/50 it would work out long-term. I personally wouldn't recommend that course of action.
