My aquarium uses regular stock aqueon lighting fixtures. I guess they are a T8. I dont remember.

Can I put a T5 bulb in there?
I have a 29g tank and i just wanted to up the lighting a bit. I was wanting to go to LED lights, but I wanted to k now if this was possible also.

I do believe the sockets are going to be different sized, and they won't fit. (( I could be wrong, but pretty sure that they are smaller ))

Right, sockets are different, and a T8 won't correctly fire a T5, especially if your talking about a T5 HO lamp.

Everyone is right.. I'm an electrician and I can answer this one for you.. The answer is no.. The pins on both bulbs have a different spacing on them which won't allow the T5 to sit in, your second issue is the ballast will not fire up a T5 bulb either so you would be wasting your time and money trying to convert it over.. Might as well buy a new fixture and go with the le done right away
