Hey everyone,

So I'd like to add one or two of the following fish.

Leaf fish
Wasp fish
Dwarf
Fu Manchu lion
Wartskin angler

And I wasn't sure if any of these would get along and not eat the following fish I already have...

2 ocellaris clowns
1 royal Gramma
2 orange spotted gobies

How big are the other fish?
By the sounds of it, none of them may work unfortunately.

The waspfish is the most likely to be fine with those tankmates. The others are a risk for eating the current residents.

I like keeping fish like those in a species tank, some of those fish could be kept together but it's always tricky keeping them with other tankmates. Their feeding requirements can sometimes conflict, as well as tankmates can become food or bullies.

The other fish
Gobies 2.5"
Royal Gramma 1.5"
Clowns 1.5"

Don't have personal experience with the Leaf or Wasp. With the others, anything that will fit in their mouths will eventually go in there.
I've had a leaf fish in the past... it could open its mouth pretty big

Ok sweet! I was thinking of a wasp fish possibly.

Yes I agree that's the ideal scenario... I used to have a leaf fish and angler in my 30 gal.... loved em.

Well I think I'm outta luck this time.
I have read if you get fuzzy dwarf lions at a small size and they grow up with your other fish they tend not to eat them. Not sure if that's true? May look for something else!

What kind of waspfish?
I like the Pygmy waspfish

The Pygmy Waspfish in the first picture could go in with your current fish now. The second picture of the Red fin Waspfish, would more than likely be compatible right now as well, especially if it were a female, but perhaps wait a couple of months for the current fish to grow. If the clowns & gramma were given a couple of months to grow they would also be compatible with the Fu. The angler I wouldn't trust with any of them. I've seen an adult fuzzy take down an adult clown and I wouldn't trust a leaf either.

No, a fuzzy doesn't care if he grew up with a mate or not. They don't view the world like that. If you get one small enough and have them long enough, you may find they aren't so quick at recognizing live food as being an easy meal. One time we fed some leftover guppies to a fish we had for a few years and had since he was super tiny and he let the guppies bounce off his eyeballs and totally didn't know what to think of them. He ignored them and begged me for food. After awhile of staring at them, he ate one and then the rest were history. This has happened more than once.

Sweet!
ok thanks!
Would a Fu Manchu and waspfish both work with the clowns and royal Gramma? The tanks 42ish gallons.
Also would either of those eat a pistol shrimp that's bonded with the gobies?

How big is the pistol? Can you point me in the direction of looking at one like you have? That may be a problem, especially with the Fu being a demersal fish.

Yes, on the Fu being good mates with the fish. Just don't get a gargantuan Fu before the clowns and gramma are grown.

I prefer the Fu between the 2. Pistol shrimps .75" maybe 1"

That pigmy would actually be the smallest thing in your tank. The male redfin might be a better mate for a Fu (if it's a large Fu).
