I run a pretty loose observation qt with prazi pro treatment. Each of these fish spent at least 3 weeks, likely 4 before going together in a dt. Last fish, a black velvet angel had been in dt for at least a month before acting strange. Black velvet suddenly got pretty picky about eating and started to hide more, then within a couple of weeks died. A week later same thing from a redtail filefish. I could see no physical signs from anything. A couple days later a radiata lion didn't seem interested in eating and died within a couple of days, there were white spots almost a bit more diffused in spots; not exactly as I would say with certainty could be ick. The lion did do a flicky type movement with his fins, this is the only questionable activity I observed.

I have allowed my hobby to get the best of me and have too many tanks, this tank will be shut down. The real question is, how do I handle the fish remaining, a black ribbon eel and a very elusive betta which at the present seem unaffected. I want to give the betta to a friend but obviously don't want to spread anything. What precautions should i take before I give it to him. The ribbon eel will be trickier to find a good home.

Sounds like marine velvet. every fish needs to be introduced to cp or copper treatment in a QT if this isn’t in the cards then maybe a LFS will take them and QT themselves or your friend can set up a QT and treat before spreading to his tank.
