So i have a c1502 setup as a calcium reactor, i want to convert it to a sulfur reactor.
So for $101 i can buy a kit from marinedepot which wont let me link it here for some reason.
Basically the kit comes with the media, a replacement inlet pipe without th co2 inlet/bubble counter, a plastic disk with holes in it and a sponge.
Now because theres very little info on this reactor that i could find it looks like the plastic disc with holes (for lack of better terms) and sponge go between the sulfar media and the crushed coral media.
But from viewing diy and some other manufactured reactors, some people just put the crushed coral right on top of the sulfur media, others use just a piece of sponge.
A gallon of sulfar media is $31, already have left over arm media from when it wss a calcium reactor, and have sponge i could cut to fit if needed. Saves me $70 vs buying the kit if thats all i need.
My questions are this-
Would capping the co2 inlet instead of replacing the piping with only a water inlet work?
Would using just a sponge or nothing st all between the sulfur media and arm media be okay?
Do they make a plug to go in place of where the ph probe would reside when used as a calcium reactor? If not ill just throw an old probe in there to block the hole.
Anything else im overlooking?
