hi all
I'm using the BRS soda ash, did anyone try to make the solution more concentrated? lets say using half the amount of water?
I'm asking because i only have the space for smaller dosing containers and i want to avoid refilling them too often

thanks

I designed the recipe to be close to saturation, and doubling is likely impossible. You can up it a little if you have good mixing ability.

If it is very important to use a more concentrated solution, you could use sodium hydroxide instead of sodium carbonate, but i don't recommend dosing it hyper concentrated either because you are more likely to get local precipitation of calcium carbonate that way.

ok
i might have to dedicate 2 pumps for alk then..

thank you!

I think you could use some very concentrated sodium hydroxide if you dosed it in a small container(maybe about a 1 or 2 fluid ounce container would be a good size)of rodi. This would cause the container to overflow, and it would dose a much less concentrated sodium hydroxide solution into the aquarium. Then maybe about 5 to 10 minutes after you dosed sodium hydroxide into the container, you would use another dosing pump to dose a small amount of rodi water into the same container, so that the container doesn't develop a large concentration of sodium hydroxide in it(and it would dose a large amount of the remaining sodium hydroxide).
