Concerned for my bta

I have purchased my new BTA today and I've never seen anything like it on its foot! What is the case here? Is it going to be ok my water levels are fine and up to scratch but I think the way the people at the store handled him could of been the problem???

Please help!

ewww that looks bad I'm afraid they tore up his foot! I'm afraid they usually wont recover from that type of damage, I could be wrong but don't think I am I would return him if you can back to the store you got the bta from sorry!

This is so bad! I was so excited to have him in my aquarium and then noticed he won't huge to stick but then thought hold on... His foot looks weird because I have another BTA in my tank who is healthy and nothing like this one...

What a shame. I've tried to have several nems and have had little luck with them. That foot is toast though, small tear is one thing, but they demolished that foot.

Thankyou for the welcome! And my BTA AMAZINGLY HAS HEALED OVER NIGHT!!! I am gob smacked about this how amazing this creature is! The year on his foot has completely disappeared and now he's back to his normal self

if you keep a stable and clean tank it will heal just fine,
i had one before the hurricane in which the lfs owner damaged it so bad removing it from the rock the when it opened its mouth you could see the rock it was attached to.. i mean the hole was dead center top to bottom... it healed within a week or so and did fine for months before the hurricane.. i'm going to see if i have a thread on R2R showing the healing process but i'm not sure..
