Concerned owner

Could you test it? I know you said you’re setting it up tonight, but if it really is a crack, and could leak, I would wanna know for sure. But, welcome to

Like I said I could be wrong, but a crack doesn't always go all of the way through the glass.. were only looking at pictures.

I would fill it with water and see if the crack/scratch expands over the next few days.

Hello everyone first time owner here had a tank off family member started going to set it up tonight and noticed these look like cracks or scratches I dunno if safe can only feel with a razor slightly inside the tank and can only see it if looking down at the tank but nothing on outside should I be worried?

These are not abnormaland often occur from magnetic scrapers. Is this tank glass or acrylic?
Acrylic more susceptible to this and is generally cosmetic in appearance rather than the overall integrity of tank

Noting that pretty much all that's going to be said; has been said, I wish you the best of luck in your new endeavor.

So Greetings and Welcome to our collective obsession!!!!

Welcome!..
I feel for ya..
Major catch 22! : The Bigger the tank.. the Bigger the value of getting it free.. But the Bigger the risk & Mess of it being used.
Testing.. a good idea.. oitside :)
But you might want to only risk if it will be later setup in basement with drain...
...depending on where the crack is.. there are always work arounds.. if it's higher up.. it can be the sump for the new 6' tank you get! : O.
But seriously, you can make that spot an overflow chamber/tower & reienforce with another piece of glass there..
If the crack/ scratch is on the side, you can make it an all in one penninsula tank, so that side is the back section, with less pressure on it and also reinforced by the baffles. (Cld always make a terrarium or orchid display :) )
This 4ft. 90gal had scratch in middle and could not be drilled, so I made it an end table/ all in one with a middle overflow/filter section, giving 14 and 60 gal cubes on the end.
