Concerns about a RO/DI unit in my apartment

So I'm looking at purchasing a RO/DI unit for my apartment my concerns are will it work? I have tons of space under my kitchen sink and some room under my bathroom sink. I do not have a washer and dryer in my unit. But I will be living in a apartment for a while is there a way I can do this?

You can find a sink or bathroom sink fitting that will fit your kitchen sink so you could screw it on the faucet when you're using it and when you're not you can put it away in your closet

I also live in a apartment and wanted to know if using and putting it in a closet is a good idea? will it grow mold or anything like that? i am sure this is not good for the media filters? if you were to put it away and use it every 3-4 days to make new rodi water, do you flush all the water out or just leave the water in the canisters with the media?

You can attach it via a faucet adapter or semi-permanently install it under the sink with a John Guest Angle Stop Valve. I got mine from BRS.

I have mine in the master bath in our apartment. I use a 20 gal Brute container to collect the ro/di water. I set mine up so the supply water comes from the cold water stop and the waste pipe I allow to drip into the shower. Nothing is permanently attached.

thats what i am planning on doing as well. unless i can talk the wifey to move her stuff for the rodi unit...lol(yea right who are we kidding)..

I have mine over my kitchen sink (tank is in the dinning area) and make RODI water every 10 days. I flush the water that's in there out every time. No mold has come from using it like this. I've had the RODI unit (spectrapure) for 9 months now. Haven't replaced the filters yet (0 TDS).

My rodi unit is in a plastic container tub and I get it out when I need to make the water and just screw it on the tap.

I'm prolly going to do something like this mount it under the sink and use a splitter like that.

What stage ro/di unit would you guys recommend? I'm thinking a 4 stage will do fine I live in the city and have city water.

Honestly if your water is pretty good just a sediment, carbon RO and DI is plenty - one of each. You can always add an extra DI cartridge down the road

I have pretty much the same setup off my supply line as @K. Steven, the only thing I did different was add a valve close to the door so I didn't have to reach in the back every time. Works like a charm. 000tds at discharge. I as well do a quick flush before each use out of what I assume is now sheer paranoia. Lol.

When we were in a apartment when our house was being built, I mounted mine on the shower wall and teed off the shower head. Used a brute can on wheels outside the shower for water storage. When we moved I took the RO/DI unit off the wall and repaired the holes. Couldn't tell it was there.

Don't forget to use a float valve on whatever canister you'll be making RODI in!

I have tons of room to mount the system on the wall and tons of room to put a 5 gallon bucket or larger in there with it can I just install a float in the 5 gallon bucket?
