My tiger conch has been observed to climb up the rock scape and then caught between two rocks, unable to go back onto the sandbed. In the past, I have been able to remove him but I noticed a bit too late this time, the shell was empty. Has this happened to anyone else?

Haven't seen this before. I have 4 conchs and they pull themselves out of crazy positions in my rockwork. Must have been a fluke situation. I'd try another as their amazing at cleaning the sand

maybe I should do a sand sifting star this time as I want a star and it is less likely to introduce ick into my system

My conch hasn't managed to get itself stuck, but i recently lost my orchid dottyback when it's head got wedged in a rock crevice.

Same here -- my lone tiger conch occasionally goes on sprees where he likes mountain climbing a treacherous rock structure. I've seen him fall into some crevices but always strong enough to pull himself out on his own.

same with mine. every so often they seem to just be tired of the same old and take a vacation to the Alps to see if they can find new or exotic foods
