Found this big guy out roaming when i got home from work yesterday. Stayed out for a while and then disappeared back into the sand bed. I would say he is about 2" long

Nassarius snail. Not sure if I spelled that right. They are meat eaters. They don't eat algae. They will come out when you feed your tank. Pretty fast for a snail.

Ringet olive (Oliva annulata).

That is him, thank you

I am having trouble finding information about what he eats, and if he is reef safe? anyone know.

I have two that came with my live sand. They're usually called lettered olive snails and are the official shell of South Carolina. ;-) They keep your sand stirred but also eat some of your sand bed microfauna (they stay in the sand so I can't imagine them bothering other critters). Mine come out when I feed heavily.

I've gotten rid of mine. Actually saw one rising out of the sand chasing a small blue leg hermit who was running for his life

I feel like the loss of one blue leg would be worth it if you caught this on video.
