Bought a live rock community with palys and a red people eater. The rock is covered in other life. These 2 fellas next to each other are about 3/16ths but growing. Any ideas what that may be?

The one on the left might be a mushroom and the one on the right looks suspiciously like a vermetid snail shell

Earlier I did see some mucus nearby with a bit of floating junk stuck in it. I figured one of these two would have to go considering how close they are. I think the choice is clear. So should I treat with DipX after chipping him out of there to ensure total eradication or something further like hydrogen peroxide?

Just remove the entire shell from the rock (outside the tank) and rinse in a container of tank water before putting it back in the aquarium.
