I've only used the Pinpoint and an Orion model 128. The Orion is sometimes available on ebay and is better but more expensive. The Pinpoint was OK but slower to stabilize and did not read temp at the same time.

That's hard to say since it depends on the budget. I'm not sure there are any "features" that are really needed that might not be there.
A four electrode probe is nice, but will only be on high end devices.
