Condy anemone dying off. I don't know why.

I just recently purchased two Condy Anemones, one large and one small. Almost immediately the large one simply began to die. Me and my wife looked up what they eat and found that we needed to feed them shrimp similar to what we feed are fish. At first the small one did well, and ate normally. Yet the big one refused to eat and simply died a week or so later. Now despite getting off to a great start the small one is starting to die and we don't know why. Are tank has a high flow to it the fish really like created by to sets of jets creating a more oxygenated environment. We have one dragonet, and goby, lots of hermit crabs, three clown fish, four lemon chromis, one sailfin just in case any of these are the culprits. Are salt content measures as of today at 1.020. Are tank runs pretty clean as well. We have to large filters and a skimmer that works pretty well. With this all in mind why can't we keep are anemones from shriveling up and dying.

Salinity is low. Needs to be in that healthy 1.025 range. I'm assuming something else is off as well

We will give that a shot. We were told by many that 1.020 was the optimum but after looking it up around 1.024 and 1.025 seems best, go fig. We needed to add some water any way so today we will give it a try.

Don't raise it more than .001 per day.

Do you have a drip acclimation line? If so you can mix a bucket of heavy salt water and slow drip it into you sump to help raise salinity slowly plus it's less stressful. Drip it at 1 drip every 2 seconds that's slow enough to last all day and help do it slowly

You will probably have to do this several times I'd only raise it a point to a point and half a day

I can see what u mean but the tank is to large for such
a slow method. but I will keep it slow as much as I can.

how large is the tank? we used this for a 135 and trust me it will work perfect, there is a much greater risk since the salinity is that low. If it was a few point higher id say you could go faster but 1.020 is pushing low for even fish. Not saying you couldn't go faster but slow and steady wins the race.

How old is your tank?

its an older 220 but in great condition. We upgraded every thing and made sure the tank was cycled for a while before even putting the first fish. Then waited several months more before we even attempted the anemones.
