Condy anemone

Hello,

I bought a condy anemone and it turned brown within days of putting it on my tank. I've gotten my water checked several times and I'm not sure what the deal is. Below are before and after pics. Can anyone help me figure out how to get it's color back?

the brown is the zooxanthellae returning.. those neon colors like the first are usually a bleached nem glowing in the actinics. the brown darker colors are a sign of it getting healthy in your tank

How long until it turns neon again? And can I move it or will it sting me?

the green should pop under the blues, what are you feeding it? i leave my nems wherever they place themselves as they're pretty sensitive. i've had nems go completely Brown and after a few weeks of care regain their colors.

My LFS told me I didn't have to feed it. What do you suggest? Will it sting my fish? I've read A lot about them and everyone says different things ....

Condys are not typically "hosting anemones" they have a stronger sting than lets say BTA's and can get very large. but they're still pretty nems and always make a tank look better. I feed all of my nems a variety of meaty foods diced small (about the size of its mouth when closed) every other day. nems are photosynthetic and get most of their food from their zooxanthellae but i don't know what your lighting system is and if its capable of sustaining anemones. it should do just fine though if its starting to darken up. please feel free to ask any questiosn you may have we have an incredible community here

So there's no way to make it brighter?

It was bleached and dying when you bought it, that's why it was bright green. Kudos on nursing it back to good health, but unfortunately the bright green won't return unless it is in bad conditions.
