Condy

i got a condy as a Guinea pig nem. See if I can keep it alive before getting one of the more expensive ones. But I kinda like this one.

I don't expect it to host osc clowns. But how likely is it to eat a clown?

Mine was my first nem also. I've had mine for almost a year now. I have 2 clowns that stay mostly on the other side of the tank. But, my other fish swim around it with no problems. My cleaner shrimp tried to take some food away from the Condy once and was able to get free and he's small. I wouldn't worry, the fish would have to be in a weaken state to get eaten by the Condy.
