Ok sooooo...recently I spouted off about how sand isn't needed in a fuge(because u know like many reefers I know everything). I have learned that after using a bare bottom fuge with just rock and cheato for a while, adding power heads after it has had next to minimum circulation, detritus has been everywhere every time I turn pumps off and then on. So I stand corrected. I am seeing now that no ph's in a fuge, rock and sand are essential. Unless you don't mind a white mucus floating around in your tank. So my apologies to all I've disagreed with on this matter. Please forgive me!!!!

It really isn't... Good flow is all you need to keep the particles suspended so the skimmer can do its job...

No sand in my fuge! Or my displays anymore for that matter. I'm ANTI-sand now.

Btw your not a idiot..:tongue: this hobby is based on 90% opinions so there for who knows who's right lol.... What works for one might not for the next...
