So I had an epiphany yesterday. After spending yet another full weekend day inside my fish room doing yet another project (plumbing this time), I realized that almost the only times I look at the front of my tank are when I clean the glass or am showing the tank to someone. 99% of the time, I’m in the fish room viewing the tank from the back. (I’ve got a Marineland 300G Corner-Flo which has a clear back). I designed my aquascape and coral placement to be viewed from the front of course, so I’m depriving myself of the best view.
Why? Because I love to fiddle with gadgets, plumbing, lights, tests, etc. I realized. I may like all that stuff more than what’s in the tank itself! Anyone else got a similar mental health problem?

Honest self assessment lol. I'm a great junkie too but I spend about 50% of my time in front of my tank. I feel it's an essential part of knowing and understanding the health of your tank and knowing what the norm is. I try not to skimp on that part. But I totally get what you're saying!
