Does it pull of the rocks easily and is it slimy?

Do the strands look like little ferns, or like hair?

Also, how old is you tank, what do you have for livestock, and what are your nitrates and phosphates?

Tank is pushing 4 months. Used lr and the nitrifying bacteria in a bottle. Livestock is a small 6 line wrasse and small goby also couple hermits and the snails i posted pics of. Small mix of corals

Ok. Algae needs nitrates and phosphates and light to grow.

You really need a good test kit for nitrates and phosphates in order to know where you are, especially this early into your tank.

What lights are you running and for how long?

2 Ai primes. Around 8 hours actual full spectrum time and 1.5 hours ramp up and ramp down. No wifi to connect to them till this weekend. To see the actual schedule.
The algae was soft and didnt want to come off the rocks by hand

It may be bryopsis which is a bit more difficult than GHA.
Do you have corals?
What do you do for nutrient export?

Yes i have corals. Water changes. Was doing about 3g a week. But backed it down to every other week. But was going off of nitrates. Which were and are 0

If your nitrates were truly 0, then you wouldn’t be likely to have algae growing.

Recommend a good, low range nitrate test kit and phosphate kit

Is salifert not a good one?
I Red Sea Pro for nitrates and Hanna ULR for phosphates. These are proven to be very accurate in the low ranges.

I use Salifert for calcium and magnesium.

Would it take any amount of nitrates plus phosphates? Say even 2?

Yes. When you are reading 0 on nitrates or phosphates, it’s typically because the algae is consuming it as quickly as it’s being produced

There is nothing wrong with having algae in your tank. I will bet 90% of tanks have some. It is when it starts effecting corals that it becomes a problem.
So if you really dont like a bit of the green then as ...........says
Yea , probably a gha.
Toothbrush and more snails.
