Does that mean that you disagree with the iodine theory?

There are no published studies showing most corals need iodine, and after dosing it for years, I stopped and saw no change.

That's doesn't mean it isn't true, nor that it has no benefit, but it makes me less than 100% convinced that the oft stated hypothesis that corals need iodine is true. Maybe it is true of some corals and not others, or maybe it is always or maybe never true. Maybe foods and water changes add enough in some aquaria and not others.

Still, it is an easy experiment to try.

I'd recommend iodide as the form to dose, not Lugols or secret time release formulas.

Anyone reading this in the future, after I removed the second lights and dinos went away after about a year of keeping slightly elevated (Nitrate > 10 and Phos > .10) nutrients and my colors are back and everything is growing. I guess you can have too much light.
