Confused about coraline algea.

Day 8 the brown algea is on my rock but wait all dry rock bare bottom and I have a couple spots of coraline algea how. I put Dr. Tims in and bio spira and 13 fish 3 16 once bottles of pods and photo plankton and I have pink coraline HOW. 8 days How?
 
Unless their really really small that's a lot of fish in a brand new tank. Hope it works out for you Please monitor Ammonia. Did you quarantine any of those fish?
I have a 1000 gallon tank and I will not put 13 fish in the first month.
 
They all add up to about 16 inches they are all babys . Except the wrasse he might be half grown. I read to start out with 1 inch of fish for every 5 gallons is this wrong.
 
I wouldn't say wrong but its better to add gradually rather than add all at one time. Gradually lets the tank beneficial bacteria build up over time as you add new fish. I would just monitor close.
 
Spores would have had to be introduced some how (maybe in the water the fish came in) and yes 13 fish is a lot to introduce to a 125g even if waa established for months, started with wet cycled rock, live sand and the 13 fish were 1" damsels.
 
My guess is that its something else, youd have set a world record if CCA is growing in 8 days :D Pic?

Id keep some prime on hand if you start to see NH3 spikes, which seems very likely.
 
Don’t be surprised if you wind up with 1 chromis. And that Naso will get huge. The Melanurus wrasse will definitely add a splash of personality. That old 1 inch of fish for every 5 gallons needs to be revisited.
 
Although the 13 fish seem very little, right now there is an imbalance between the waste generation from the fish and waste processing from the microfauna. Here i don't just mean the nitrifying bacteria you can dose from the bottle (remember that is only good to convert the toxic ammonia into no3, but does not get rid of no3). The waste No3 and Po4 can only be processed and exported with time with more maturing tank as your bacteria and other micro fauna catches up. the brown algae is the first sign of this imbalance. However, since your volume is big and you have new rocks, this reaction is muted b/c 1) it will take a while for the imbalance to really tip the scale and 2) the new rocks will absorb a portion of the waste, giving you a false reading when you test your water for NO3 and Po4.

your fish will likely be OK as long as you keep up with nitrifying bacteria to prevent ammonia poisoning, but all that accumulated unprocessed waste will have a very delayed reaction on when it will eventually rear its ugly head in your tank. Think of it as a big diaper - It will feel fine for a while, but eventually that diaper will be full and will stink up the place. keeping up with good husbandry and you'll have 5 to 8 months of relative peace until your rocks saturate with nutrient and you end up bad GHA outbreaks.

not saying what you did is wrong - there are different paths forward. others on the post prefer slow and steady b/c the nutrient/waste cycle and balance is a very delicate thing in our closed systems. Accelerating the nutrient load will make your tank have bigger ups and downs in its path to maturity but may get you there faster as long as you keep up with good water changes, manual removal of nuisance algae (there will be a LOT), avoid the temptation of "miracle bottle" fixes, give your micro fauna to catch up and establish itself, let you system run its course. Its like putting rocket fuel in your car - you car will probably go faster but the ride will be bumpier ( with a small chance it will blow up.)

Also got a pic of the purple stuff? is it crusty or "carpety"? might actually be purple cyano rather than coralline.

As others have said, that is a lot of fish for a newly started tank. If you have Dr. Tim's and Bio Spira still, I would continue adding some daily to help get you past the hump where the tank's biofilms can take over the nitrification.

Do you have a pic.

Skeptical you have coraline growth in 8 days. More likely imo some type of bacteria.

to answer your question. Not comment only on your tank age or fish load.

If it's actually coraline. If you added any water from the LFS that had coraline spores in it, or from the pods, you could've introduced coraline. That's how.

Otherwise spores got in some other way. But I can't imagine how.
 
My guess too is cyano. pics under white light would be Very helpful
