Ok so i am very confused and been watching videos and no one explains this part

when dipping coral you use water from your tank but if you are doing that you are taking water and the salt from the tank the ATO is going to add the RO water without salt and its going to cause a salinity swing what am i missing here how do you guys do it am i being stupid for not understanding what is going on here?

You just make new salt water to replace what you use if you even tok enough water to cause a problem.

I don't know your tank volume but for me 1 liter of water coming out of the display isn't a big deal. But I could see how on smaller tanks it may be a big deal.

I use one solo cup only for a frag. Put one capful of coral rx in and no issues. Doesn’t even put a dent on my 5g frag tank

How many gallons is your tank?
If what you use to dip is just a small quart or two container its not a major deal. If you have a small tank and it concerns you that much just have some salt mixed water ready and replace it back.
