Hello!

Just picked up my first hammer frag today
At the store it was a dark purple (like 1st pic) but now it seems to be a very light purple (2nd & 3rd pic).

Just wondering if it’s still getting used to the tank/lights or I should move it to get more/less light?

I agree with Tuffyyyyy. What kind of lights do you have? Do they cycle more blue at the end of the day?

They also need time to adjust to the light. I bought a torch about a month ago the was a light green with bright pink tips. Now in my tank for a month the testicles are a darker green and the pink is just finally starting to get dark again.

Those things are usually not that color. Sorry...

I have stock biocube 32 lights.
The blues are on for about 2 hours a day.
I have stock also. Yours looks like mine. It was dark purple under blue lights.

I agree with everyone else....it is amazing how much you can control the color of coral by changing the light spectrum.

When I started with Frogspawn I had CFL's and although they grew very well the color wasn't the bright green you would expect until I switched over to MH. I learned very quickly to get the great color and away from the brown it require's UV and or large amounts of light in the 420-440 range. Euphyllia can handle a PAR reading of 50 to 400 very well.

Check out my red dragon under a regular house light during acclimation and then under the led reef breeders light , I know its a different coral but it’ll give you a good idea how the light affects the corals color.
