So I woke up this morning and turned on my tanks light. I believed what I saw was an out break of ick in my tank. But when I got home today I don't see any white spots on my fish anymore... I've noticed that at night my fish lose some coloring and brighten up after the light is on. Could that be what the spots were from and if u guys think that sounds nuts is it safe to treat for ick if ur not sure they have it. I bought a cure that my local place swears by using without needing to remove the fish. Since I don't have a qt tank.

When I suspect ich I personally turn the heat up too 80-82 for a couple weeks and do 2 water changes a week. I just prefer to try and maintain my tank with as little chemicals as possible. But if you think it's that bad use your best judgement

That's the thing I'm not sure I saw white on them this morning but when I came home and did a water change there is no spots on them.

The think with ich is even after it falls off your fish it lives in your sand bed so I still like to run my tank a little hotter and take precaution for about 2 weeks. Then I let things go back to normal and if it comes back. I will repeat the steps but I dose my tank with peroxide once a week and have not had any problems. But the method you want to use is up to you. 5ml 3% peroxide to every 10g of water is the measurements I use.

So if they don't have ick its safe to treat for it anyway is what ur saying. The stuff I have says it safe for fish and inverts. And I don't have corals

@Joshua Agostoni could be sand/detritus on them from sleeping that sheds once they start swimming around after lights-on. Don't treat for anything without more evidence. :)
