Confused on new fish acclimation

I have new fish that will be at my door in a few hours.I have looked on the web and here with differing advice on how to acclimate my fish.Ok,first is temp acclimation.Float the bags 20-30 mins.I get that.The real question is in the ammonia pH stuff.The idea to me is,open the bag,put the fish in a bucket with their water.drip(steady stream) tank water for 20-30 mins.So do I add any Seachem Prime or not for ammonia?? If I'm adding tank water the pH is going to rise as expected I understand.So if the water temp,salinity, and ph are matching my tank in about an hour( a little more) the fish should be ready for my tank.Sound ok?

I would not worry about floating them if you are doing drip acclimation, but sounds like you got it. Are you going to quarantine?

I'm more concerned about this effect on shipped inverts. Your plan is fine sans Prime which does not actually neutralize ammonia as advertised.

Follow the vendor's acclimation process. Take pics of everything in the bags and aa you acclimate in case you need to claim a loss later (not saying you will, but having the pics is better than not...)

When I got fish shipped to me, I did the float bag/drip acclimate and had no issues with my fish!

Thanks guys.I just read

Jay Hemdal article too.I'm almost more confused but not really.I will float the bags 20mins max. Then without Prime,I'll add water as has been suggested.On the inverts,I've read just get the temp the same.Make sure the salinity is very close,if not exact.And finally just drop them in(no dripping).That's what I've seen from reef stores on YouT. and others.​

I don't have a QT set up.My main tank only has one small ocellaris,softies(shrooms and cloves,some zoas,rock and sand)

I would not not be overly concerned with PH as I would ammonia. Floating and entering contents into a clean bucket I agree with. Add water until the salinity and ph equalizes with a focus on salinity and the conflict often is, fish in shipped bags produce carbon dioxide and ammonia. The carbon dioxide lowers the pH of the water in the bag, That in turn makes the ammonia toxic to the fish.
