A friend recently gave me a 20G that he turned into a sump. It's a bigger upgrade than my Gen 2 eshopps rs100 24IN. I'm confused on where I would put my coraline 125 G skimmer etc.

Just pick a left and right. Then match where the return pump and overflow dumps. Put the skimmer in the chamber next to the input.
That one looks like it's designed to have a large refugium or live rock area.

But basily , either or.

What did you crack the acrylic? How did you crack it? Did you try to force something?

1- first thing go to YouTube and search for sump refugium. Then you will see how it is setup and what it does.

2- what do you currently have in your tank?

3- I would remove the baffles, get some ATI silicone for aquariums and customize the sump to fit your gear.

If the baffles cracked easy then they are either too thin or your friend did not use enough silicone to hold the acrylic baffles.

Glass on glass is always easier to bind but you can use acrylic if done correctly.

I cracked the tank itself. Trying to move it inside it fell on the side

The tank is currently empty.

Glass and acrylic expand and contract at different rates. So when mixing , leave an extra gap and fill it with silicone.

If you cracked the tank just trash it. If you need a sump then I think it's petco that has sales of 1 buck per gallon. That tank new is 20 bucks

I already have another 20G tank ready for it.
Your best bet is put your equipment in the tank like the skimmer, return pump etc and use tape to mark off where you want the baffles. Then you have to decide if you want to run a refugium with chaeto or a chaeto reactor. Do you plan on getting corals or fish only? If corals and fish, what type of corals you interested in?

I plan on running corals and fish. Mostly SPS. I'll probably run a fuge with chaeto for now due to limited space of adding a reactor.

I wouldnt risk it. It might hold water today but do you really want that in the back of your mind everytime you go out of town? One more bump could drop 15g of water on the floor.
