I have been trying to make my Ricordea happy for weeks... First I though it was getting to much light so i moved it and it has been two to three weeks and it hasn't done anything. So today when I moved it back into the light I noticed there was a clear film on it so I softly rubbed the coral and the film started to come off.. I wonder if this is normal because when messing with it today i see it has split because it has multiple outer rings. Its like its morphing maybe? It is hard to describe Here's the best picture that I could take.

Hopefully you guys can help me out.

Bacterial infection
What are your current no3 and po4 results?
Looks like it has expelled its zooxanthellae

no3 = .75
po4 = 0.04 red sea ... I hate this kit -.-

what are indicators of a bacterial infection?? I have a Yuma and I do not want it be infected.

When they're stressed they produce mucus. Mine do it often when stressed, I have a few doing it now because of them being switched around in tanks. I wouldn't be too worried unless they close up and don't come back out.

All I can do is wait for right now :/.. I have notice while looking at my tank with the lights off that the underside looks to be slightly brown. Can't get a good picture..

Ricordeas produce a lot of mucus especially when disturbed. Keeping it in med-high flow helps keep it clean of excessive mucus. Also they do not need high light.
