Confused with Flow?

I am struggling to establish a good flow in my softie only tank. My tank is 500 gallons (97" x 49" x 20") and I am pushing roughly 7000-7500 gph of flow through the tank. The flow looks good along the outside of the tank but it looks pretty heavy in the center and I'm not sure why. I have a large Kenya tree that doesn't mind the high flow, and a very large Xenia colony (couple thousand polyps if I had to guess), both in the center of the tank. The Xenia colony will get hit randomly by a huge burst of flow that will make most of the polyps close. Any idea how I can fix the flow?

You'd probably need to provide a bit more detail in the form of a diagram showing return outlets, overflow, wavemakers, etc.

I have a 750g with high flow, using 3 pumps and the return. I have the ability to run almost 10x the flow you have in your tank.

For us to help we need to know what kind of pumps you have producing flow, where they are located in the tank, and what kind of controller/timer system you have them on.

To adjust the flow it could be either the change of equipment or just the change of timing.
