Confused

What's the difference between a pvc coupling and a nested pvc coupling and which is better? Going to be my first time plumbing

As far as I know there isn't any, nested simply means like for like sized for extending a straight run as opposed to a reducing coupling or things like that. I recently did a very large PVC setup for my tank and never looked for one or another or even noticed the name mentioned. If you are shopping HD or something like that just get couplings.

So either one is doing the same thing..... Connecting 2 pipes of the same size correct?
