Hi guys,

Is this a sign of my anemone splitting?

It's difficult to tell for me from that picture. Was it all one even shape before and now is it like it's less even in shape around the circumference?

It certainly looks like that's the case to me which would indicate that it will be splitting within the next few hours.

They typically don't take too long to split, a matter of hours.

Hi Ludders,

Yes it was even shaped before but just took a glance last night when the lights went off and saw it do this.
I just checked on it a few minutes ago and yes it did split. From one I've now got 3.

Only problem is, one of it is at the bottom of the rock with almost no light reaching. Would the ones that split move on it's own to find it's happy spot?

It was very bleached, a stress split most likely.
Squirt mysis towards it a couple times a week to help bring back health and color
Hi davocean,
Yes it's bleached. I'm not sure why but it's been this way since December last year after it ate my yellow foxface.
I do feed it with a homemade blend of reef roids, shrimp, clams, and crabmeat thrice a week.
How long have you had it for?
Hi Ludders,

I've had it since September last year

Hmm, well that's a new twist, but I guess the foxface may have had toxins that could have harmed it.

Try not to overfeed, or feed too big, mysis usually works best, hopefully it comes back to health.
It's having a hard time dealing w/ light, perhaps screen off over it's area until it gains some color maybe.
Stay on WC's and keep stable params.

Thanks davocean.
I've actually raised my radions to 10inches from 8inches about a month ago, hopefully it regains it's colours.

It's definitely bleached, and split from stress, let them be and don't try to move them. I always feed my Nems @ReefFrenzy, and have brought several back from near death with it.

any help needed shoot me a PM. best of luck
Thanks mate. I'll monitor it for a few days and if nothing is going well i would drop you a pm. Really appreciate it. Cheers
