Confused!

Issue with my 180g mixed reef (a ton of softies, huge Maxima, shrooms, 1-2 SPS, several LPS)...I overdosed Ca buffer a few weeks ago (Ca shot up to 510). I turned off my Ca Reactor waiting for the Ca to come back down naturally. But it won’t! AND, interestingly, my Alkalinity is staying put at around 8.5. Every so often it dips a little lower. This has been going on for a few weeks. How is it that with no Ca Reactor online, no buffers....the Ca and Alk reading are staying stable?

510 ppm calcium is fine.

I’d suggest tracking alkalinity to determine if restarting the reactor is needed. It may just be the demand is fairly low.
