To my knowledge, for the best coral growth you want a full spectrum LED -

Well, Juwel offer a full spectrum solution in the form of the HeliaLux Spectrum - https://www.juwel-aquarium.co.uk/Products/Lighting/LED/HeliaLux-LED/HeliaLux-Spectrum/

What confuses me is their description -
"The HeliaLux Spectrum is only suitable for use in fresh water aquariums. It is not suitable for saltwater aquariums. We recommend the MultiLux LED with the LED lighting media Marine and Blue to provide for ideal conditions in saltwater aquariums."

This seems to be the very type of light that everybody seems to be manufacturing, marketing, using, and recommending for a reef tank.

So, when I look at what Juwel DO offer as suitable for Marine tanks, it's simply a blue LED tube to fit their MultiLux LED unit which is exactly what people are NOT manufacturing, marketing, using and recommending for a reef tank... as it's not a full spectrum LED panel of lights...

https://www.juwel-aquarium.co.uk/Products/Lighting/LED/MultiLux-LED/LED-Tubes/LED-BLUE/ -
"The JUWEL LED Blue lighting medium was specially developed to simulate the light conditions on coral reefs in depths of around 6 m. The special light spectrum promotes coral growth in a targeted manner."

This is exactly the type of light which - if came included with a tank, reefers would deem useless and rip out to be replaced with their preferred solution.

That then means, the only viable light that Juwel offer for a coral reef tank is the light which they clearly state is NOT suitable for saltwater aquariums... what am I missing here?

I would move on from that brand. They lack the power and optics needed to provide meaningful par levels for just about any and all corals. Those look like 0.1-0.25 watt diodes

I believe one MultiLux tube is equal to about the same sized T5 tube in light output. I used to have a juwel rio 450 with 4 x 54w t5 tubes in it. Doesn't sound like a lot for a 5ft tank but with the reflectors it was more than capable of growing softies, lps and some sps up high on the scape.

I really like those tanks with their sealed lids. I just wish there was a way to squeeze more lights under that lid. If that was the case id convert one to have a sump and use it as my main tank.

Coral uses different parts of the spectrum within the full spectrum. Just because a light is listed full spectrum it only means it carries light that falls within the ROY G BIV/UV. A light may not have sufficient par in the spectrum coral can use even though the apparent intensity seems sufficient.
