We are pleased to announce that @HotRocks is R2R's newest Expert Contributor!

Kyle has taken the lead in the fish disease forum, offering expert advice to those with sick fish and quarantine questions. Even though he has only been in the hobby a short while, I have never seen someone so driven and determined to make a positive impact when it comes to the health & well-being of the fish we keep! Soon after joining our hobby, Kyle discovered that the Hanna High Range Copper Checker could be used to more accurately test copper in a saltwater environment: https://www.reef2reef.com/ams/coppe...truments-high-range-copper-checker-hi702.454/

Kyle took the initiative to test the checker against many different types of copper. This may be the most helpful/significant discovery in the past 5 years when it comes to quarantining and treating marine fish!

On a personal note, Kyle is a good friend of mine, and I'm so very proud of all the knowledge he has gained. People like Kyle are the future of this hobby! :)

I will say this because Kyle is my best friend in “real life” (OK maybe an acquaintance after reading this entire post). I will say this publicly that he is by far the most overall impressive human I’ve ever met (aside from his appearance, of course). He picks up and retains information faster and more effectively than anyone I’ve met and his fish disease knowledge is already as advanced as my own if not actually eclipsing it. He’s capable of sharing in my fish knowledge and learning from my longer tenure and has picked up so much more than I could ever have imagined. Sometimes, he teaches me things which is sad because I’ve been doing this longer.

All in all though Kyle IS the future of this hobby and I’m glad to have suckered him in to this hobby, this forum, and quarantining my fish (sorry momma @HotRocks I owe you).

Congratulations. You are a great person and an even better friend. I’m glad we share the same crazy hobby with this forum of equally crazy hobbyists! :)

Thanks for the kind words @Humblefish. I'm honored to work alongside the finest people of this forum. Honestly R2R, you, and @4FordFamily are why I am where I am today.

This place drives me to learn, retain info, help others, and most importantly through research and experiments find better ways to treat the nasty diseases we deal with in this hobby!

I have much love for this place, and EVERYONE who is a part of it! So THANK you all for that!

Let's make it a great 2019!
