So I wanted more refugium/sump/place to put a few frags when healing. So added a second ten gallon tank. Combined them with u channels for suction. Works ok but i want the water level to be a bit closed its off by two inches. return hose is a 1 so used two 3-4" u tubes. And it can not keep up. Should i switch to a 2" pipe? Or any ideas? Thanks

Yikes. What happens when you lose siphon?
I'd drill a hole in the bigger tank, and let it gravity feed into the small lower one.

Well that was the thought of using two 3/4" u channels. How do I know if the ten gallon is drill able? And you mean like a bulk head and PVC to the other tank?

I did this similar set up. I have three tanks under my DT. They all have been drilled with bulkhead fittings and connected by PVC. Works great. You want to make sure the tank is not tempered. Put on polarized sunglasses and look at the tank in the light, you will see lines if it is tempered. Good luck.

Awesome thanks! Silly me was impatient and set up tank instead of making sure a 29 could fit understand. And then realized I could only put a ten so mad room for two tens.;-( maybe I can fit three and plumb all together. Thanks for the polarized idea.!
