j062682l it looks good. just one piece of advice. id move those green star polyps to thier own area. they will spread EVERYWHERE if you have them next to other rocks.

Nichole here. Some of you know me from RC and the CTARS meetings..some of you don't.

Capt and I have a 125g tank (with 3 150w MH & 8 T5), a 30g rimless (with a geismann 250w MH), a 230g clownfish breeding set up (currently with 6 pairs...ocellaris pair, ocellaris/vivid fancy pair, blacker ice pair, flame pair, picasso pair, clarkii pair), a 40breeder frag tank (with PC & 2 250w MH), 4 5g rotifer cultures, 10g culture of tigger pods, 10g culture of tisbe pods.

Pretty active on the club's fourm on the other site, but starting to like Reef2Reef alot more...

What's up sass! Hey how do u culture live pods ??

It's not hard. I have a 10g tank set up. Filled about 3-4 gallons full of freshly made salt water. Match the salinity of your culture to that of your tank, that way you can add to your tank without any ill effects from serious changes in salinity.

Buy a bottle/package of pods. Test the salinity of the culture, despite what the package might say. If needed, drip acclimate your pods into the culture tank.

Use some rigid tubing & flexible tubing with an air pump...and there's your aeration. Set it to a light bubble, not too hard, not too soft.

Feed live phyto or get some phyto blends from reeds mariculture (we have it for the rotifers and works well for the pods also.)

They need basic lighting 8-14 hours a day.

Feed again when the water starts to turn clear.

Remove detritus from the bottom of the tank 1-2 a week. Change some water out once a week.

I think that's about it.

My current tanks is a 36 g bow front mixed reef, with a mated pair of true percs, a 12g edge fresh water planted that my son is "learning" on, and a 20 long dwarf African cichlid tank.
