Been thru a couple posts and can’t find out if I’ve done this right. Connecting co2 scrubber to nyos skimmer.
Is this done right?
the alkatronic should show me an increase if fitted correctly.
It’s the whit ro tubing coming from the top of the skimmer that connect to my scrubber
You can connect the tube from the skimmer directly into the C02 scrubber bypassing the silencer. I have Nyos 120 and have done exactly that. I have then run a pipe from the C02 scrubber to the outside air so I am getting outside air (low C02 concentrations) being sucked into the C02 media which is making it last longer. It has made an amazing difference. Here is my current pH
As you can see, my pH is begging to drop slightly so the media is due to be changed this weekend.
The other thing to consider once you have your scrubber working is to keep a very close eye on your Alk and Calc levels. You will find your corals grow faster due to a higher pH and you will see the uptake of Alk and Calc.
I have the nyos 120 to tanks downstairs and only about 3 meters away from exterior wall so drilling out to fetch in outside air is easy. Do you have a couple pictures of where/how you’ve attached you skimmer to the co2 scrubber
Do you mean to take this tube off the bottom of the air silencer and attach that to the co2 scrubber? So the air adjusted part of the skimmer is redundant. Also when taking fresh air in from outside did you run the tubing in ro size or enlarge it as it’s going to need to be reduced to to connect to the scrubber?
