Hi all!
I just got myself a refractometer and the difference in salinity level compared to the hydrometer is massive! Been using the hydrometer for over a year now to adjust nsw to 1.025, but the refractometer tests the same water at 1.030 after calibration. Ca and Alk are way above the levels stated on the Red Sea blue bucket, about 500ppm and 9.5dkh respectively. Could that have caused my zoas eventually not opening and lps bleaching? Just restarted my 60 gallon and wanted to iron things out to avoid running into problems again. TIA!
