I currently have two a360x’s on my tank it’s a bare bottom sps only tank with two mp40s. My last sps only tank was with three 250w metal halides and I had amazing results for years. LEDs I consider myself a newbie that just researches as much as I can. I honestly miss the plug and play of the metal Halides with a 20k radium bulb. The look seemed more natural as well. Anyway I’m on leds at this point and I’m wanting others perspective on adding a third a360x the tank is 36x22x22

This is a interesting question since you are looking to add one to an existing ecosystem. I personally like the a360x's. Kessil is a great company and their support, when needed, was amazingly fast. So I'm not going to lie, I'm probably a bit biased. I have 3 over my 210 and considering a 4th this week actually. I have more than enough light but I wanted to reduce a hot spot in the middle of the tank which is why I'm considering buying another.

Having said that there is the Phillips unit due out soon and i really, really, love their design. It is giving me pause with my purchase and I'm waiting for a review by a our friendly expert here on the forum. If it turns out that they are an incredible unit then I may considering slowly swapping out. I normally do this. Actually, I never do this by upgrading or swapping products but this one time may be an exception from a quality of lift regarding power and cable management.

If you haven't seen the BRS updated video they discuss the spread and spacing. May help to use as a guide. I am starting with their recommendation and then using my Seneye to check and then see if adding a 4th will help. Overall cost doesn't bother me too much since their life cycle according to Kessil is 5 - 7 years if taken care of.

Anyway if you have seen this sorry :) If not, worth it for the spacing. Hope you have a great day!
