So I’m thinking about adding another Kessil A360we to my cube. Currently has 1 360we & 2 T5’s (ATI Blue+). Reason I’m considering is because I have some excess shadowing I’d like to remove. The T5’s only run for 5 hours a day. The current A360we is centered over the tank, if I added the second I would most likely stagger/offset them so one is more towards the back left corner and the other towards the front right. Here’s a recent FTS. Thoughts, suggestions, questions, concerns?

What are the dementions of the tank? Is the shadowing negatively affecting corals?
Being that you are t5s are running for 5 hours you should be fine as for coverage. Shadows are not always a bad thing. You can use those areas for lower lighting corals or to help light acclimate lower light demanding or stressed corals.

Looking at the tank, I also believe that with the lights that you have now, you are good.
Adding an extra Kessil 360WE would be overkill as it has (according to the manual) a spread of 24"x24".

Great looking tank by the way!!

The tank is 24”x24”x24”. I’ve been considering switching this tank to an AP700 but while getting house ready for thanksgiving found another A360WE I had got in a tank I purchased awhile back and completely forgot about. So rather than spending the money for the AP700 I’m thinking just use the 2nd 360we.

It’s 24”x24”x24”. There are some higher light SPS that are being affected by the shadowing and not coloring up like they should whether it’s because of shadowing from the rockscape or from other corals growing near them and shading the light. I don’t really keep any low light corals, tank is essentially only SPS with decent amount of euphyllia, nems & LPS.

Since you already have a second a360, by al means use it. Just be sure to decrease the intensity on both to maybe 50% and see how the corals react. Also if you are able to angle the fixtures slightly toward the center of the tank, that’ll probably help with the light spillover that you will incur.
I love the tank by the way :D

Ya I mean now that I stumbled across the other it no longer makes sense for me to pay $500-800 for a used or new AP700 when I can just add the second 360 and have essentially the same thing. Not horribly concerned with spill over, my DIY light fixture that houses the T5’s only allows me mount the kessil approximately 6.5” above water line so spill over isn’t horrible but this is most likely why I also have issues with shadowing due to the light not being as high as recommended. Thanks for the compliment! Have a few tanks running but this one is by far mine & my wife’s favorite m. Well it’s debatable if it’s he favorite, her pico tank she keeps on her night stand next to the bed with pair of clowns and 5 rainbow BTAs is probably her favorite lol.
