I have my big build (tank is 96" x 33" x 29"h) up and running with 2 10x54w old school power modules. I've always been a T5 guy since starting with corals, but the amount of heat generated by 1080w of T5 is a bit stifling in my office...the chiller is running a couple of times a day and it isn't even hot here yet!

Thus I'm considering making the switch to one of the aforementioned LED units. Anyone have some thoughts? I did make the switch to all Apple products last year, seems that may be a slight concern with the mitras. I do have parallels running on my Mac

Also wondering about number of units, I was thinking 6 to 8. Display will be primarily SPS

I'm pretty happy with my Mitras. I caught them on sale so I got a much better price than I could have on Radions. If you are paying full retail it might be a toss up. Maybe look at the mounting options for each and decide which you prefer.

I have 2 units over a 47" tank, but mine are mounted parallel because my tank is only 19" deep. With a 33" depth I'd think 6 Mitras units should cover your tank nicely mounted perpendicular.

As for software, you can access them via myghl.com. You'd only need to run the GHL Control Center in Parallels the first time to get them connected to WiFi.

I love my G4 pros. But I've never had the other so I can only tell you how much I like my G4s. You'll want either the reeflink or to connect them to your controller. On my apex I control them completely and can even change profiles on my iPhone apex app with the push of a button. For example, viewing profile, photo profile, etc.

I have 4 mitras over my 255 gallon and its plenty of light for my sps, so 6 would be real nice over your aquarium. My aquarium is 72" long. I switched form MH to Mitras over 5 years ago and never looked back. No more chiller and the dusk to dawn is beautiful. Not to mention giving the corals different spectrum throughout the day. I don't think you can go wrong no matter which way you go.

just a suggestion, try FOCUSTRONIC......there will be a promotion coming very soon! there is even a R2R giveaway now

we help to reduce shadowing and even a more natural dawn to dusk
