Considering going fowlr

It's set to zero.. Tuesday when the fish store opens I'll take all the healthy corals to them. Pitch all the dieing ones and just keep my 3 little fish..

Hate to see you give it up, but that's an awesome tank. Nothing wrong with triggers, lions, and eels though.

Honestly , @Steve Dillon it's got to be something simple... Looks like all the basics are covered so it's just something we are all missing like @BlueDevil said.

I think your making things way to complicated for a six month old tank. There's no reason to be dosing at this point. Turn the light intensity down, no need for 100% blues if you just have LPS. I fried LPS with those lights at 80%. Ten gallon water change every week, run carbon, and call it a day.

I agree with the light intensity. Did you always run the same lights or just recently switched to LED? I still only have my lights at 40% blue and 15% full spectrum.

I didn't have the lights at 100%originally when I started having problems people said turn them up.. and now it's turn them down.. you ran this brand light? What was your intensity levels on all three channels? I dose cause tomorrow it will be back to low 8 in alk..

What did you have them at and how much did people ask you to turn them up? And in what timeframe were you asked to turn them up? All this is very vital information.

50 blues and 20 whites. It's been a few months. I'll try to find my other thread. With the light being brighter that would really promote the coraline to grow could that explain the alk/calcium difference?

Why dont you try going with soft corals, leathers, xenia, gsp, kenya, hammers frogspawns ect. i've learned soft corals tend to be very forgiving of perameter and temperature swings

Gotcha, good luck man dont give up, im waiting for my tank to mature so i can start off on some sps, so for now i just take a step back and enjoy the softies

Nowhere in this thread do I see anyone suggesting that you should turn your blues to 100% unless it was in a different thread. You had asked what everyone has their lights at. I do see a couple of responses with their lights at 100% blues. However what works for them might not work for everyone else. For that matter, they probably got to 100% over a very long time.

Your post from 5/11 said your scollys were looking nice and plump. What did you change since then. And if anything, why did you change?

I'll look thru my other threads tomorrow. I know someone suggested turning the light up.. that's why I asked in that thread.. in mean time I'm turning the light to 50% 15% either way they are not doing good..
