Considering Red Sea Reefer 250...thoughts?

Without knowing the other half of the trade I'll say you really can't go wrong with a Reefer. The sumps a little tight in the 250 maybe is the only bad thing I got.

I would be trading a 100 gallon tank, I am needing to go smaller in order to reduce maintenance costs.

The Red Sea Reefer setups are amazing... virtually an ELOS for much less money. With that being said, if you are wanting to go full custom right off the bat, then it may not be the most economical choice. I changed everything about mine, except for the stand. However, I did it over the course of 18 months. So I liked the fact that I could set it up right out of the box, then replace the plumbing, ATO and sump as I went along. A quick shot of mine with the doors off:

That doesn't help him much... you would need to post the tank, stand, sump, plumbing and ATO that you are referring to in order for him to make the best decision for his needs/wants.

@Cory Helps to actually read the thread before chiming in with your 2 cents....just my 2 cents.

I wasn't necessarily implying used. More so what new rimless tank, stand, sump, plumbing and ATO setup would you do that would be larger and cheaper than a Reefer 250, which is $1299 new.

I should of paid attention haha yeah should be worth it depending what you have and will get

Lol i thought you were buying it new. But if trading it might be worth it. Sorry about that

If you need to downsize and the 250 is a good fit for you then it makes sense. In theory you're cutting system size by +\- 50% and they're a very nice tank. Only you know what you spent/put into the 100 and you know what a 250 costs. If you think it's a fair trade and it solves your current dilemma you should consider it.

How did you get the hart beat look to your graph on the display? I remember someone asked you but i cant find it now.

Checkout my build thread and YouTube page. I setup a 250 a few months back!
